Chester Three-Day Release Window
The Chester County Sheriff's Office provides an official link to Chester JailTracker. The access sweep found no separate page labeled as a 72-hour release list. It also found no control proving the visible rows are limited to three days. A Release Date in the legacy interface helps trace one booking, but it cannot be described as a countywide rolling feed.
A wider period is still useful. It allows a search to span three calendar days instead of focusing on one same-day event. Yet the window must be built from the dates in actual records, not assumed from whatever JailTracker happens to display. Chester County has not published how often that interface changes or how long released rows remain available.
The Sheriff's Detention Center page confirms the local office channel. The Chester County FOIA form provides the formal request route, while the local Magistrate Court page supplies bond information.
Check Chester 72-Hour Releases
Begin with the known person, booking episode, and date range. A broad name match without identifiers can join the wrong record to the wrong person. The best sequence collects JailTracker's visible booking numbers, then asks the custodian for all releases whose actual exit times fall within the chosen three-day period.

- Set the requested period by exact start and end date rather than saying “recent.”

Use the Jail Releases: 24 Hours route when only the latest day matters. The 72-hour method is designed to capture a broader record range, not to repeat the same-day screen.
Chester 72-Hour Record Fields
The online fields and the requested record serve different roles. JailTracker's legacy grid supplies enough detail to match a row. The custodian's release record should then provide the exit facts and show whether legal custody ended or moved elsewhere.

Ask for the actual authority and destination as well. Bond, recognizance, dismissal, time served, and completion of a local sentence can lead to community release. Transfer to SCDC, another jail, USMS, or ICE means custody continued. A court record can explain the legal event but may not contain the jail's exact processing time.
Chester Weekend Release Records
A 72-hour request is most valuable when the period crosses office closures or multiple court and jail processing days. It can collect Friday, Saturday, and Sunday exits in one defined range. Chester County does not publish a special weekend-release schedule, however, and no source establishes that JailTracker posts each event at a set hour.
Do not infer an exit time from a hearing schedule. Chester Bond Court holds hearings at 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. seven days a week, but a hearing can be followed by conditions, payment steps, another agency's hold, and jail processing. The release record is the source for the actual exit. If a row first appears after the weekend, its displayed date may still place the release inside the original three-day range.
Note: Define a holiday or weekend search by calendar dates, then ask for actual release timestamps instead of relying on the day a row was noticed.
Inspect Chester Confinement Records
South Carolina's public-records law gives the three-day search a stronger fallback than a speculative roster scrape. Section 30-4-30(D)(3) requires documents identifying people confined in a jail, detention center, or prison during the preceding three months to be open for inspection and copying during operating hours, unless another law exempts material. Chester County's published Detention Center office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Ask for existing booking and release entries for the exact range. Include the full name, aliases, date of birth when known, ArrestNo, Jacket, and approximate booking date. Request the exit date and time, release or transfer disposition, releasing authority, and destination. This approach does not depend on the online retention period.
For a formal request, describe the records narrowly and seek electronic copies where available. Chester County's FOIA form states a minimum $15 administrative fee and says actual cost depends on research and copying. In-person access to the recent identifying documents and a broader formal records request are related but distinct channels.
Chester Release or Transfer
A person dropping off the live county roster has not necessarily been released to the community. Chester County defendants can move into SCDC, another county jail, federal custody, or immigration custody. That move is a transfer. It keeps the person under legal restraint even if the county booking has closed.

SCDC says its live search reflects people incarcerated in state prison as of midnight the previous day. That stated cadence belongs only to SCDC and must not be applied to Chester JailTracker. The live SCDC tool also excludes released state prisoners, county detainees, and people under community supervision.
Chester Release-Date Retention
The Chester legacy interface exposes Release Date beside ArrestNo and Jacket. That combination can make a retained row useful for a precise named search. It does not answer whether all rows remain online for three days, and the Sheriff gives no public retention promise. The legal right to inspect recent confinement documents is therefore more dependable than assuming an online archive.
Record the search date and time. Save the identifiers without asserting that a blank search proves release, expungement, or record deletion. Interface configuration, data correction, transfer, and a system problem can all change what appears. When the disposition is abbreviated, quote it exactly and ask the records custodian what the code means.
A release record closes one custody episode. It should connect admission and exit, identify the authority, and state whether custody ended or continued elsewhere. That is more precise than roster absence and more direct than a court order that only authorized release.
Chester Release Alert Limits
South Carolina VINE can add a custody-status signal and may provide a release or transfer alert for a participating record. Chester County Detention Center appears on the official SC SAVIN facility list, and JailTracker has a Victim Notification control. Registration works prospectively and depends on the agency feed and the chosen contact channel.
VINE is not a certified release record. A notification may mark exit from one reporting facility even when another hold or transfer follows. JailTracker's advertised mobile-web endpoint returned an access error during the research sweep, and no separate official Chester Sheriff inmate app was verified. Sheriff social accounts provide selected communications, not a complete three-day archive.
